Winter Beauceron Care Tips A review on the do's and don'ts on caring for a beauceron over the winter month. Did you know most beaucerons are lost during winter months than any other time of the year? To ensure the safety of your beauceron, during the harsh winter months, try these beauceron care recommendations: Rhodesian ridgebacks have an actual ridge along the top of their backs. The ridge is made up of forward-growing hairs. This ridge gives the rhodesian ridgeback a unique and easily recognizable look. � Always make sure your beauceron's ID tag is properly affixed before heading out into the great outdoors. Many people will swear that they own a golden labrador. The problem is that golden labradors do not exist! There is no purebred dog called a golden lab. The dog is probably either a golden retriever or a labrador retriever. � Following a heavy snow or during extreme conditions that may induce ice, never allow your beauceron to roam freely without a leash. Both describe the appearance and attitude of this delightful breed. � In the winter, DOGS with long hair do not require shaving. Their coat can provide the warmth they need to stay comfortably. Remember to completely dry your canine after giving it a bath during the winter months. Not to mention, paw pads may bleed from both snow and encrusted ice. The smallest breed of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Chihuahua, which stands six to nine inches at the top of the shoulders and generally weighs two to six pounds. Their size makes them excellent travel companions.
