Winter Beauceron Care Tips
A review on the do's and don'ts on caring for a beauceron over the winter month.
Did you know most beaucerons are lost during winter months than any other time of the year? To ensure the safety of your beauceron, during the harsh winter months, try these beauceron care recommendations:

Rhodesian ridgebacks have an actual ridge along the top of their backs. The ridge is made up of forward-growing hairs. This ridge gives the rhodesian ridgeback a unique and easily recognizable look.
Always make sure your beauceron's ID tag is properly affixed before heading out into the great outdoors.

Many people will swear that they own a golden labrador. The problem is that golden labradors do not exist! There is no purebred dog called a golden lab. The dog is probably either a golden retriever or a labrador retriever.
Following a heavy snow or during extreme conditions that may induce ice, never allow your beauceron to roam freely without a leash. It's easy for a canine to fall through ice or stumble across other potentially dangerous incidents.

Originating in Germany, the name Affenpinscher means, "monkey-like terrier". However, in France the breed is described as the "Diablotin Moustachu" or "moustached little devil". Both describe the appearance and attitude of this delightful breed.
In the winter, DOGS with long hair do not require shaving. Their coat can provide the warmth they need to stay comfortably. Remember to completely dry your canine after giving it a bath during the winter months.

The joys of motherhood struck with a vengeance when, in 1984, a great dane became the third dog to join the record holders for largest litter. She had twenty-three puppies. Interestingly, each of the three dogs that hold the record are different breeds.
Never leave an unattended beauceron in a vehicle during a wintry, blustery day. Leaving a beauceron or cat alone in the car is tantamount to leaving a canine in a refrigerator or freezer, increasing the possibility of your pet freezing to death.

The dachshund's name comes from it's earliest use. The dachshund was originally a badger hunter. In German, Dachs means "badger," Hund is "hound". This explains the breed's curious and inquisitive nature, which has survived to this day.
Canines with short-hair may require a sweater or coat to keep them warm. Look for beaucerongie ware that covers the neck to as least the base of the belly or tail. (in example turtleneck or a high collar)

The basenji, an African wolf dog, is the only breed of dog that cannot bark. Instead of barking, it makes an odd yodel-like noise. Due to this fact, the basenji is also sometimes known as an African barkless dog.

There is absolutely no difference between an Australian silky terrier, silky toy terrier and a silky terrier. They are all the same breed, but have different names in different countries, specifically in Australia, Canada and the United States.
Prior to bringing your beauceron in from icy, snowy or wet and cold weather, be sure to thoroughly wipe off its paws, legs and stomach. Since many canines groom themselves by licking their stomach, legs or paws be sure to wipe them thoroughly. Salt and antifreeze may be potentially fatal when ingested. Not to mention, paw pads may bleed from both snow and encrusted ice.

The smallest breed of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Chihuahua, which stands six to nine inches at the top of the shoulders and generally weighs two to six pounds. Their size makes them excellent travel companions.
