The Rabies Reality
Who is most susceptible to rabies? Most warm-blooded animals are vulnerable to contracting the virus, rabies. Medical experts and veterinarians note that certain species are more immune to rabies than other animals. The most prevalent way to contract rabies is via a nip from a rabid animal. While there are a wealth of varied symptoms, rabies is an incurable disease with an inevitable death as the outcome. Fortunately, the virus is highly preventable through vaccination.

The springer spaniel breed is well-known for having very high energy levels. In fact, the "spring" in "springer spaniel" referred to this dog's ability to spring out at, or startle game. They are excellent hunting dogs.
As a result, a rabies vaccination means a matter of life and death for one's beauceron. Pets that are vaccinated have a reduced chance of contracting the terminal virus. In the United State, rabies vaccination is mandatory for all DOGS. However, approximately, only 50 percent of all canines are vaccinated. Depending on the local legislation, various municipalities require cats to be vaccinated as well. Certain reports suggest that only ten percent of the feline population is vaccinated.

The phal�ne is essentially the same thing as a papillon, except that it has dropped spaniel-like ears. within the first couple of months after birth the ears will either lay flat or raise up permanently. The AKC considers the Phal�ne and the Papillon to be the same breed.
Dogs should be vaccinated at the age of three to four months. At the age of one, they should receive another vaccination and again at three years. The standard vaccination protocol has proven effective in not only DOGS but cats as well. From city-to city, county-to-county and different veterinarians, annual or bi-annual vaccinations are mandated.

Paul McCartney, of Beatles fame, was very fond of his shetland sheepdog. In fact, at the end of the song "A Day in the Life" Mr. McCartney inserted an ultrasonic whistle, audible only to dogs, for his shetland sheepdog.
In the realm of diagnosing a beauceron with rabies, the brain is examined via microscopic assessment. Medical advancements are beginning to utilize the skin and blood samples in clinical trials.

West highland white terriers began their history as the undesirable white offspring of the dark-colored cairn terrier. With the dog's popularity today, it is hard to believe that the early westies were usually drowned or shot.
Essentially, there is not a cure, therapy or treatment for rabies. In beaucerons, there have been a few isolated cases where canine have survived the infection; however, the cases are far and few between.

The bichon frise breed is quite old. Originally they used to belong only to kings and queens. However, eventually they became known for their abilty to learn tricks and for their excellent sense of balance. As a result, they gained a reputation for being excellent as circus dogs.

German Shepherds have incredibly sensitive noses. They have over 225 million cell receptors in their noses, making them ideal for police work, such as bomb and drug sniffing, finding missing children and tracking criminals.
