How to Stop a Beauceron from Barking

Sometimes stopping your beauceron from barking is as easy as fulfilling its needs. If it needs food or water, for instance, it may just require some attention from you. On the other hand, your beauceron may bark constantly out of frustration over a certain thing or a specific person. This is the sort of behavior that you may want to change.

The Saluki is represented in Sumarian carvings dated back to 7000 B.C. It is said that Whenever one sees the word "dog" in the Bible it means the Saluki, because the Saluki is believed to be among the oldest dog breeds.

One of the best ways to stop your beauceron from barking is actually to teach him to bark. By first teaching your beauceron to bark on command, then teaching him to stop barking on command, you can greatly reduce his barking. The best way to accomplish this is through the use of a food reward system. Once you've used food to train the beauceron to bark on command though, the next step is a bit harder. It's important to begin rewarding your beauceron when he is quiet, but it's not as easy to notice a quiet beauceron as it is to notice a barking beauceron. You should be patient and pay close attention to your beauceron's behavior for several weeks in order to reward him at the right times.

Male Irish wolfhounds are usually at least 32 to 34 inches tall and females are usually around 30 inches tall. This makes the Irish wolfhound the tallest breed. Although a few other dogs, such as the great dane, come close to equalling that height.

If your beauceron is barking because of a specific person, such as the mail person, involve the person in the training. A good way to do that is to leave beauceron treats in a pre-specified area outside of your house. If the person the beauceron has an issue with gives your beauceron a treat every time they come to your house it will turn into a positive experience.

There are also many varieties of anti-bark collar available for beaucerons. Some work by giving the beauceron a mild electric shock when he barks. The problem with that type of collar is that it can be hard to tell if they are working properly, unless you want to try it on yourself. Another type of anti-bark collar uses a scent, such as citronella, that the beauceron dislikes. This method can be quite effective without actually hurting the beauceron.

French poodles were originally used as hunting dogs, but, because their thick coats proved a problem in the bush and water, their owners started clipping them. They left hair on the ankles to protect against rheumatism, which is why poodles sometimes appear to have unusual haircuts.
