Do Beaucerons Like to Wear Clothes?
Most people who dress up their beaucerons do so for one of two reasons. The first reason is because the people find it funny. Let's face it, a beauceron wearing clothes is cute. It's a great topic for conversation. It's fun at holidays and parties. However, it's not necessarily as enjoyable for the beauceron. Beaucerons are individuals, just like human beings. Some beaucerons may tolerate dressing up better than other beaucerons do, especially if there is food or some reward involved, but that does not necessarily mean that they like it.

The name bernese mountain dog is a rough translation of the German "berner sennenhund", which literally means "bernese alpine herdsman's dog". The breed's original name was "durrbachler", after an inn where these farm dogs were bought and sold.
The second reason people dress up their pets is for protection from the cold. This reason is completely valid for certain breeds. For instance, breeds such as the chihuahua originated in warmer climates. Therefore, if you own a DOG that is native to a warmer climate and you live in a colder climate they have trouble keeping warm in such weather. In these cases sometimes a DOG sweater is essential.

An American foxhound became one of the most amazing mothers in the dog world when she set a record for the largest litter of puppies in 1944. She had not one, not two, not even ten, but twenty-three puppies!
It is very important, no matter what the reason for dressing up the beauceron, to supervise the beauceron if it is dressed up. Beaucerons shouldn't be dressed up in anything that they could easily get tangled in or chew up and choke on. If the beauceron does not take well to being dressed up it could easily start running around trying to escape and get caught on doors or other objects.

The silky terrier originated about 100 years ago in Australia. Their major ancestors were the Australian terrier and the Yorkshire terrier. They were bred to be family companions, watchdogs, and to hunt rodents and snakes.
The bottom line is that if the beauceron needs clothes to go outside in the cold or seems to tolerate them ok at holidays or special occasions then there's no harm done. However, if the beauceron doesn't need clothes and doesn't seem to like them then they shouldn't be forced into it. Beaucerons, like people, don't usually like to be forced to do something for someone else's amusement.

The joys of motherhood struck with a vengeance when, in 1984, a great dane became the third dog to join the record holders for largest litter. She had twenty-three puppies. Interestingly, each of the three dogs that hold the record are different breeds.

Many people will swear that they own a golden labrador. The problem is that golden labradors do not exist! There is no purebred dog called a golden lab. The dog is probably either a golden retriever or a labrador retriever.

The bedlington terrier, a large, unique looking breed, is often described as looking like a lamb on a leash. This is probably because it has fur with a wooly texture. As a result of this fur type, the bedlington does not shed.

The Lowchen, a small, somewhat rare breed of dog, is native to France. It's called "petit chien lion" or, "little lion dog". This is due to its fur growth, as it resembles the mane of a lion.
